DESCRIPTION

The product is a cement-based, perlite-containing, lightweight insulation screed that provides thermal and sound insulation, and that can be applied manually or by means of a machine.

*    The above values are valid for + 23oC and 50% relative humidity. The time is shortened at high temperatures and extended at low temperatures.

AREAS OF USE

It is used to provide a flat surface before application of a final coat such as ceramic, parquet, or laminate at such floors of buildings that are exposed to light to medium frequency of pedestrian traffic. It contributes to sound and heat insulation at application grounds.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS

  • Ambient temperature of +5 ° C to +35 ° C.
  • Avoid from application under very humid and / or very hot weather conditions.
  • Avoid from applying it under direct sunlight and strong wind.
  • It should not be applied on frozen, melted surfaces, or surfaces with frost hazard within 24 hours.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The application surface must be clean, free from dust and grease, sound and dry. Any residues remaining on the surface (e.g. concrete, adhesives, paints etc.) should be scraped and cleaned. A bag containing 20 kilograms of EKOKAT Insulated Flooring Screed is poured into 10 to 12 liters of water and mixed in a low speed application machine, and the mortar prepared as such should be applied by means of spraying. Manual mixing should be performed in accordance with the mixing times specified for low revolving mixers, and it should be applied and jigged to the surface with a steel trowel. Depending on climatic conditions, starting one day after application, the surface will be watered in the shade twice in the morning and evening for at least 3 days.

WARNINGNo foreign materials should be added to the mortar, and each bag should be used as a whole. Attention should be paid to the water ratios specified. After application, all tools should be washed with water before they dry. These values ​​are valid for a surface and ambient temperature of 20oC. The time is shortened at high temperatures and extended at low temperatures. The application requirements specified in the Technical Data Sheet should be observed. Otherwise, the final performance of the product may be affected from the application methods and the ambient conditions.

5,5 – 6,5 kg/m2 for a screed thickness of 1 cm

STORAGE CONDITIONS AND SHELF LIFE

It should be stored in its unopened original packaging, in a cool and dry environment. Avoid from exposure to direct sunlight. Shelf life is one year from date of production under suitable storage conditions.

APPLICATION RESTRICTIONS

It should not be applied directly on metal, wooden, or wooden-top surfaces. Do not apply it on plaster surfaces. At areas with a high frequency of pedestrian and vehicle traffic, it is recommended to apply EKOKAT SP301 Resistant Screed product. It is advised to apply EKOKAT SP201 Insulated Terrace Screed at exterior areas such as terraces, balconies, and etc. that are exposed to external weather conditions and rainfall. 

SAFETY MEASURES

Work clothes, protective gloves, goggles and masks suitable for workers health and safety should be used during the application. Due to irritant effects of uncured material, it should be washed with plenty of water and soap immediately in case of contact with skin and eyes. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately. No food and drink should be brought into application areas. Store it out of reach of children. Please refer to the safety data sheet for further information.
